Coastal Speech Therapy Services

I work with adults with a range of speech, language and swallowing needs arising from neurological conditions such as Dementia, Stroke, head injury, Parkinson's, MS and MND.  I also specialise in working with adults and children who stammer. I provide highly personalised, evidence-based therapy which centres on an individual's immediate needs. My approach and the intensity of therapy is always discussed in advance.

FAQs

What happens when I make contact?

Once you have made initial contact either by phone or email I will offer you a free 15 minute telephone consultation so that we can discuss your immediate needs and identify how I may be able to support you.
If we then decide to meet, we will arrange an initial consultation usually lasting approximately one hour 30 minutes.  See 'What are your fees?' for more information.

Where does therapy take place?

There are different options available and some of these have changed due to Covid-19.  I can use a clinic room at LB Healthcare in Whiteley where social distance rules will be followed and appropriate protective clothing used where necessary.  Most communication sessions can be done remotely via zoom or Skype.  Home visits can take place for emergency swallow assessments, again full protective equipment will be used and social distancing rules followed.

What does therapy involve?

Once we have identified that speech and language therapy will be beneficial to you we will agree an individualised programme which is specifically tailored to your needs. The frequency, duration and number of sessions is entirely dependant on your situation and will be agreed with you from the start. Sessions can range from 30-90 minutes depending on the individual.

What are your fees?

The rates for private speech and language therapy depend upon the type of service offered.  Fees for therapy sessions and assessments may vary significantly.  This will be due to factors such as:

  • The type and complexity of each individual case

  • The type of service that is being offered (such as at the client’s home or nursing home)

  • Travel considerations

  • Prices range from £40 for 30 minutes to £200 for formal assessment and report
